Entry Information
Entry is $100 per team of four students
Placement in heat will be confirmed on payment.
50 Pre Quiz Questions will be provided on payment.
Information specific to your heat will be sent out about a month prior to your nominated heat.
Conditions
Kids' Lit Quiz Australia is open to students aged 10 to 14 years.
Students must be under 14 years on the 1st July 2024. (Not just at the time of the heat)
A school can enter 1 or 2 teams. More teams may be included if there is available space in the nominated heat.
Teams may be mixed Grade or single Grade Teams
Students must be all from the same school or recognised group that meets regularly (e.g. Home Schooling Group, Book Club)
Substitutions are not permissible during the heat.
The team that takes place in the heat is the same team that will take part in the Final.
Prizes
The winning team of each round will be awarded books. If there is a tie there will be a 'sudden death' question to award the book prize.
The winning team from each heat will be eligible to take part in the National Final which will be held in Sydney at the State Library of NSW on Monday the 3rd of June 2024. A subsidy for travel will be provided.
Second and third place in the heat will be awarded either books or book vouchers.
If there is a tie for first, second or third place there will be a sudden death question to award the place.
The winning team of the National Final will be invited to the World Final in Canberra, Australia from the 8th to the 12th of July with the Final being held on the 10th of July. The winning team will be provided with a subsidy for their travel and their accommodation and meals for the weekend of the Final will be provided for the team members.
Second and Third places will be awarded prizes.

Important Information
The winning team from each *full heat will be eligible to take part in the Kids’ Lit Quiz ™Australia National Final which will be held in Sydney, at The State Library of NSW on Monday 3rd June 2024.
The winning team in each heat will be provided with a subsidy to assist in travel to the final. prizes, ribbons and trophies will be awarded at each of the heats.
The winner of the National Final will be invited to the Kids’ Lit Quiz World Final in (TBC) from 8th - 12th July 2024. With the Final being held on Wednesday 10th July. The winning team will be provided with a subsidy to help cover the cost of their travel. Accommodation, breakfast and dinner for the team and two accompanying adults for 4 nights will be provided.
Team members need to be aged between 10 years and 13 years. It is possible to have a younger child who is a voracious reader BUT all team members must be under 14 years on the 1st July 2024. This is to ensure parity at an International level. Each Team/Students may only enter 1 heat.
Please inform parents and other supporters that they are welcome to be part of the audience at all the heats and the Final.
Face to Face heats are much more interactive and allow for a greater level of participation. The Virtual heat will have the same number of questions and categories, but will be modified to fit the format. The Virtual heat will require access to Zoom and will use ‘Socrative Student’, available both as an App and on your browser (no download required) to submit the answers.

Information Regarding what constitutes a Full Heat:
*Heats from 15 to 35 teams are considered ‘full heats’ and the top team from those heats will have automatic entry to the National Final.
*Heats with over 36 teams will have the top two teams proceed to the National Final.
*Heats from 4 to 14 teams are considered ‘micro heats’ and will be combined with another micro heat to a total of 15 to 28 teams combined. These heats will have the full 100 questions, but the prizes will be modified. The top team from the combined micro heats will be invited to the National Final. The teams in these heats will be notified of when the result will be finalised prior to their heat starting.
