Heats
Heats are held at various locations throughout NSW, ACT, QLD, Victoria and South Australia. During the heats the students work in teams of four to write the answers to 10 questions in 10 rounds with categories as varied as cats to villains.
The categories are a mystery to the students until just before the quiz commences. The students choose one "joker round" where they get double points.
The winning team from each round wins a book prize. Between each round, questions are asked of the teams where they can win a $5 cash prize.
There are also prizes awarded to members of the audience who answer questions.
Each heat takes approximately 3 hours with a short break in the middle.
Friends and family are strongly encouraged to attend.
The winning team from each heat is invited to compete at the Australian Final.
